Currently we have over 850 Players in our database, taking 300 off the board to start still leaves 550+ Players. It's a good point but it would take forever to start adding that to the 500 or so players I've created pages for. I'm hoping to re-design the website soon. That would allow me to display stats so buying a database with ncaa stats is a possibility.

Since he's coming off shoulder surgery, I will wait until he passes his physical before updating the projections. If healthy, I'd place him in the projected rotation ahead of Slowey, who has minor league options remaining.

I've recently noticed you have player pages (other sites) on each player...I'm not sure if you are aware but there is a great site you aren't including that has college stats on players bios. It's thebaseballcube.com....

I find it quite interesting to look at when looking at prospects drafted out of college.

I can see a trade or two going down to clear things up. EY, Jr. and Nelson are both out of options and could be of more value to other teams. It could end up being Herrera and LeMahieu instead if the other two are traded.

Don't think he's a fit for Coco. Crawford, when healthy, is the LF. Ellsbury is the CF. I like Kalish to take over in RF at some point so you don't want to block him. For now, Cody Ross is there and Ryan Sweeney is a solid backup for all 3 spots.

As far as Ciriaco, I threw him in there because he's a good defensive SS, but I think another backup OF is better fit on the bench than another infielder. They just don't really have another one that makes sense to me, unless Daniel Nava wins the spot.

Right. That way, I don't have ##'s next to half the players on the roster. Bronson Arroyo and Brandon Phillips are also out of options. Different rules for players that have more service time. Makes sense to limit it to players with under 5 yrs or on multi-yr deals.

MLBTR's list excludes players who have less than 5 years of service time but signed multi year big league deals. Hence there are still players like Arredondo of the Reds who are out of options.

I'll be making a few changes based on players 'out of options'. Allen is one. I'm gonna leave Cespedes in CF until I hear otherwise from the manager or GM. I know Crisp doesn't want to move, but it's not up to him.

Don't think Crisp gets traded now. Maybe mid-season but only if he's playing well. Value would be low with another year-and-a-half on his contract if he's struggling or injured in July.

If Cespedes makes this club out of spring (doubtful IMO) then you could see Cowgill start the year in AAA allowing them to have Allen (out of options) on the bench. Since that would mean they'd have 5 other outfielders (Crisp, Cespedes, Reddick, Smith, and Gomes. I don't see them risking losing Allen right out of the gate.

with the exception of the batting order all looks well. A few things to consider, Allen on Cowgill off, Allen is out of options and crisp can be the back up CF. Allen can play 1b or CF.
They are going to sign Manny.
Kila is toast, no options.
they are going to sing on more reliver, which bumps off godfrey.
Ross is a near lock of the rotation and they might not go with either parker or peacock, being that braden is almost ready, so as to not start their clocks on the young guys.
maybe even a 4 man roatation until they need 5 and can spot start a few in there.

What r the chances coco comes back to boston seeing how the A's sighned Cespedese and have? a good crop of young outfield prospects in the minors and that tehy could use a decent, well-liked outielder. Also coco is a switch hittter who will help that mostly left batting order. And he has experiance in LF. And who do uthink the sox will get to be a back up infielder? They cant expect Ciriacio to be any good. I mean he didnt even make the pirates when they had Ronny Cedenio at short.

Lots of factors but it could happen. If Francouer isn't hitting much, if Myers is tearing up AAA/AA, it's probably a no-brainer. How far they are out of the AL Central or Wildcard race would also contribute.

As things stand, that's exactly how I see things. Branyan 2-3 DH starts/wk, Jones 2 starts/wk, A-Rod, 2 starts/wk, Jeter once in awhile.

Have a feeling they won't stand pat, though. Makes too much sense to bring back Damon or Matsui and Ibañez has also been mentioned. They've also discussed DH types in trades for Burnett. Sounds like they want to get something done so Branyan would be a backup plan.

I was just going to come here and ask if there was a chance the Yanks stand pat on FAs and just go with Branyan as the lefty DH -- and I see him in the lineup! Nice call, I think it's worth throwing him out there 3 times a week with Jones and A-Rod/Jeter (by way of Nunez) picking up the rest.

Thanks Joe! I think De Aza and Viciedo deserve a chance to start and, unless I hear different, my projection will remain the same with those two in the everyday lineup. However, Fukudome can step in if either struggles of if Alex Rios or Adam Dunn struggle again. If those four are playing well, Fukudome could still get a few starts per week since he is so versatile and can play all 3 OF spots.
