MLBDC RADIO has officially gone on hiatus but I'm very excited to announce a new yet-to-be-named podcast that will debut next week. Beginning on Monday at 3PM PST, I will be teaming up with Ben Nicholson-Smith of MLBTradeRumors to bring you 30 minutes of hot stove talk that will include everything from rumors, free agent signings, trades, transactions, analysis, and much more.
Here's Ben's bio from MLBTR:
Ben Nicholson-Smith started covering baseball transactions for MLBTR in 2008 and has since written over 7,500 posts for the site. He has also covered the GM Meetings, the Winter Meetings and MLB games in person for MLBTR. The Toronto Sun named him the 94th most influential Canadian in Baseball in 2011. Ben has appeared on countless radio programs and you can often hear him discussing baseball rumors on stations from coast to coast. A graduate of the University of Western Ontario and of Carleton University's Masters of Journalism program, Ben lives in Toronto. Ben has contributed to sports TV and radio broadcasts at various levels. Ben's interest in baseball comes from listening to Blue Jays and Tigers games on the radio growing up. Ben has been a fan since he was a toddler, and he has the crayon-marked, chewed up baseball cards to prove it. You can follow him on Twitter: @mlbtrben.
In our line of work, Ben and I pretty much eat, sleep, and breathe baseball transactions. The good thing about having us both on one podcast is that we have different specializations that complement one another. MLBTradeRumors covers a wide variety of topics but, as the name suggests, rumors are the main subject. Here at MLBDepthCharts, I try to make sense of what actually did happen by updating depth charts and projecting lineups, rotations, etc.
The show will likely air 2-3 times per week, although that could change based on our schedules. You can listen live at BlogTalkRadio or just wait for the link to the show to be posted on Twitter or here on the site shortly after it ends. You can also subscribe on iTunes, once that option is available sometime on Monday.
