Resign Leauge to 3 years with a club option for the 4th yr
Resign choate to 2 years
Resighn Wright to a 1 year deal
excersixe todd coffey's option

Trade Uribe and Van Slyke to Texas for Craig Gentry and cash.

Dee Gordon starts at ss opening day
Hanley ramirez shifts to 3B
Cruz comes off the bench

OR

Dee Gordon at 2nd
Mark Ellis at 3rd
Hanley Ramirez at ss

Coffey's option got declined

Acquiring Gentry wouldn't be a bad idea--gives us a solid backup OF and as we all know Uribe sucks a** and was overpaid. Van Slyke has a lot of potential and could possibly earn a roster spot.

I have to disagree with you on Cruz coming off the bench--Cruz needs to start at 3B permanently (he's too good of a hitter and defensive player to be on the bench), Hanley at SS, and then Mark Ellis at 2nd.

Dee can give Ellis some rest on certain days since he's an older player.

We definitely need to re-sign Choate for at least another year. Did a good job shutting down left-handed hitters. If not then give Elbert a bigger role and keep Paco in the majors so we can have two lefties in the pen. Definitely gotta keep Brandon League. Javy Guerra needs to work on his pitching in the minors.

We must sign a quality starting pitcher such as Colby Lewis, Kyle Lohse, James Shields, Edwin Jackson, Paul Maholm? Just throwing names out there of guys that are pretty solid. Billingsley's status is in the air.

Release Ted Lilly.

I think you could build a team of players NOT on the Dodgers "Projected 25-Man Roster" and beat the Astros.

The Dodgers GM says Carl Crawford should be ready for Opening Day.

Jason - MLBDepthCharts.com said... December 14, 2012 at 10:14 AM

Expectations always end up being high for players coming back from TJ surgery. Without setbacks, he could be ready by Opening Day. Probably not as likely for position players to have setbacks as pitchers, but he's still questionable, in my opinion. I'll probably wait until Spring Training and playing outfield before moving him into the lineup.

What do you think is about to happen now that we have an open roster spot?

Jason - MLBDepthCharts.com said... December 20, 2012 at 9:57 AM

Sounds like they're interested in another reliever. That would make the most sense. Still a lot of good free agents (Soriano, Wilson) and trade targets (Hanrahan).

You have Ryu's name backwards.

Jason - MLBDepthCharts.com said... January 24, 2013 at 9:08 PM

I've seen it spelled both ways.

Very minor nitpick, but I imagine AJ Ellis would bat 7th and Cruz would bat 8th.

Jason - MLBDepthCharts.com said... February 18, 2013 at 8:11 AM

Once Cruz became a regular, the lineup had Ellis 8th and Cruz 7th on a regular basis. That's what I'm basing this projection on.

What does it take for Dee Gordon to get some love?!
