MLBDepthCharts Magazine was launched in January 2012 so this is officially our first full offseason with coverage beginning in October 2012. Follow along as teams put together their rosters for the 2013 season. Updated roster projections and depth charts that include all players in big league camp and some of the more notable lower level prospects, projected starter comparisons, free agent tracker, transaction analysis, and much more on a regular basis. These are available as excel and pdf files.
Here is everything that will be included:
DELIVERY SCHEDULE: While offseason roster moves are at peak in December, updated files are sent 2-3 times per week.
TRANSACTION TRACKER: List of every major league transaction with a short analysis for each. Includes individual team tabs with list of minor league and major league free agents, as well as 'Offseason Additions' and 'Offseason Departures'. ETA of 1st Edition: SENT
ROSTER EDITION: 25-MAN Roster projection, along with 75-100 other notable players in the organization separated by 'On the Outside Looking In' (in the mix for Opening Day roster spot) and 'Lower Level Minor Leaguers You Should Know' (notable minor leaguers expected to begin season in AA or lower). Included are 2012 stats, position(s), contract, 2013 salary or expected salary, service time, pre-season prospect ranking, age, out of options, etc. ETA of 1st Edition: SENT
PROJECTED STARTER BY POSITION COMPARISON: The projected starter or projected platoon for each position (C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, LF, CF, RF, DH, Starting Rotation, Closer, Setup Men). These are sortable by different categories, which will include several 2012 stats, age, 2013 salary, service time, etc. ETA of 1st Edition: SENT
FREE AGENT TRACKER: List of all Major League Free Agents, sortable by several different categories. Included are 2012 stats, 2012 position(s), 2012 salary, age, projected contract, predicted destination, and new team/contract after the player signs. ETA of 1st Edition: SENT
TRADE TRACKER: List of every trade during the offseason with projected role in new organization. ETA of 1st Edition: Included in Transaction Tracker
INJURY REPORT: List of every major league player who is questionable, doubtful, or out for the start of the 2013 season with regular updates. ETA of 1st Edition: January 2013.
PROSPECT REPORT: Ranking of the top 101 prospects in baseball heading into the 2013 season and Ranking of the top 10 prospects for each organization. Age, level, and 2012 stats are included. ETA of 1st Edition: February 2013
