I am a big Michael Taylor fan, but I am surprised that the A's called him up over Cowgill. I was reading that Cespedes hurt his hand or strained it or something and he has not been in the lineup lately. If the injury is serious enough to put him on the DL, do you see the A's calling up Cowgill and who would be in the starting outfield?
Taylor was the hot hand so he deserved the call-up. Now that Cespedes is hurt, it made sense to call up Cowgill so he can fill in as the CF for the next day or two.
Any chance for B-Mac, Jermaine Mitchell, Sonny Gray, and Eric Sogard to Cubs for Starlin Castro, Ian Stewart, and Steve Clevenger, then zuk and penny to rays for a prospect
No chance.
Pretty sure that Moss is just a bench guy now. Carter has been playing alot while Moss rides the pine.
It's been a platoon but they've faced mostly LHP's lately. Different story if Carter starts playing 1B vs RHP.
Carter is a starter 1B against LHP and DH vs RHP, only to get Moss in the lineup. Carter can hit both and is actually doing much better vs RHP.
Smith has been in a huge slump and watch for weeks hitting 9th again when coco is back.
gomes hits 2nd vs LHP. Smith vs RHP, smith is only playing cause coco is out, he's kind of lost the DH job to Carter whos killing LHP.
and suzuki and kottaras are platoon id consider kottaras the starter as he'll hit vs RHP.
and blevins is not a Long relief..Scribner has that role.
