Players added to 40-man roster TRACKER (Oct-Nov '10)

LAST UPDATED 11/19/10  9:01 PM PST

This is a running list of all players who have been added to their team's 40-man roster since the end of the regular season. These players will not be eligible for the upcoming Rule V Draft. Players are typically eligible if not added to the 40-man roster after their first four or five professional seasons (four years for players who were 19 or older when they signed their first professional contract and five years for players who were younger than 19). November 19th is the deadline for teams to set their 40-man roster before next month's draft so expect more names to be added to the list throughout the day.

'Resources and Information' pages

updated 10/27/10 10:49 PM PST
by Jason Martinez

One project I should be finishing up in the next few days is the addition of a 'Resources and Information' page for each team. So far, all teams in the NL East, AL East, NL Central, and all but the Twins in the AL Central have their own 'Resources and Information' page. This page is accessible from any of the team pages (Major League, AAA/AA, or HiA/LoA/Rookie) or by just clicking on the team name on the middle bar. This page includes the following:

Player Pages (Chicago Cubs)

posted 10/20/10 4:03 PM PST
by Jason Martinez

I've finished player pages for any Chicago Cubs player on the major league roster at the end of the regular season, initial minor league projections for 2011, and a 'Resources and Information' page that will serve as that team's 'homepage'.

The minor league player pages will not be completed until later in the offseason, although this has already been completed for all notable minor leaguers for the entire NL East, Baltimore, and Boston. In addition, initial projections for 2011 major league rosters will be up shortly after the World Series for all 30 teams. Please email me any questions or suggestions.

Moving on to the NL Central Champion Reds!

Player Pages (Toronto Blue Jays)

I've finished player pages for any Toronto Blue Jays player on the major league roster at the end of the regular season, initial minor league projections for 2011, and a 'Resources and Information' page that will serve as that team's 'homepage'.

Player Pages (Tampa Bay Rays)

I've finished player pages for any Tampa Bay Rays player on the major league roster at the end of the regular season, initial minor league projections for 2011, and a 'Resources and Information' page for the team that will serve as that team's 'homepage'.

The minor league player pages, with the exception of the NL East, Baltimore, and Boston, will not be completed until later in the offseason. Initial projections for 2011 major league rosters will be up shortly after the World Series for all 30 teams. Please email me any questions or suggestions.

Player Pages (New York Yankees)

posted 10/14/10 3:31 PM PST
by Jason Martinez

I've finished player pages for any New York Yankees player on the major league roster at the end of the regular season, initial minor league projections for 2011, and a 'Resources and Information' page for the team that will serve as that team's 'homepage'.

At this point, I'm going to move on to the next team (Tampa Bay Rays) before completing minor league player pages in order to ensure that all 30 MLB teams have a 'Resources and Info' page, minor league projections, and major league player pages done before we get too far into the offseason. Once that's done, I'll come back around and focus solely on the minor league player pages.

Player Pages (Boston Red Sox)

posted 10/11/10 4:44 PM PST
by Jason Martinez

I've finished player pages, initial minor league projections, and a 'resources and information' page for the Red Sox that will serve as that team's 'homepage'. That makes it seven down (NL EAST and Baltimore Orioles are others that are completed) and 23 teams to go. Long process but it will be well worth it. Be sure to check out what I've done so far and email me your feedback.

Player Pages (Baltimore Orioles)

posted 10/4/10 5:01 PM PST
by Jason Martinez

Along with the entire NL East, the Baltimore Orioles now have a new team page with a ton of resources and information. In addition, player pages for close to 100 players in the organization have been completed. Be sure to check it all out! The Boston Red Sox are up next.

PROSPECT TALK: September Debuts That Could Stick

posted 10/01/10 12:40 PM PST
by Jeff Moore

There are lots of players who have made their major league debut this month. Some are getting their cup of coffee, never to be seen again in the majors. Others will make it back eventually, but are there just to get used to the daily life of a major leaguer.

Not much drama in September over in the American League, unless you care about whether the Rays or Yankees will be the AL East Champion. Both have clinched playoff spots but the division is still up for grabs as the two teams are locked in a tie. The Twins and Rangers, who each had winning Septembers, ran away with their divisions weeks ago and no team in the AL has really ever been within reach of the Wildcard. However, the Rays and Yankees each had losing Septembers and will be playing teams with more momentum heading into the playoffs.

The Phillies finally caught up with the Braves earlier in the month and haven't looked back since, heading into the playoffs as the hottest team in baseball with 21 wins in the month of September. The Braves, meanwhile, lost 8 games in the standing to the Phillies after a losing month (13-14) but were able to maintain a 2 game Wildcard lead over the Padres heading into the last series of the regular season against a Phillies team who is likely to rest its regulars.
