I have an easier time seeing Morse at 1B, Willingham in LF, and Bernadina on the bench than what you have.
Though there has been speculation of Willingham playing 1B, he's played all of 4 innings there. Big bodied Mike Morse has played more there and is suited for the position.
If Willingham moves I think it'll be to another team.
Jason,
Is Corey Brown on the 40 man yet? I don't think he was on Oaklands.
They just added him in November.
Chris Marrero, how about him to play 1st base. He can certainly hit a baseball.Or,how about Bernadina to play 1st.Or ankiel could play 1st and bernadina LF.What r your thoughts on these?
Morse would play 1B over any of those guys. He at least has some experience there and was much better offensively last season. My guess is that they're trying to upgrade defensively at the position.
In regards to Marrero, he needs some time in Triple-A. I don't see him as a guy who can jump from AA to the majors. Ty Moore is right on his heels, though. Could catch him on the depth chart with another big year.
hew do u think will b in lf? do u think that wilson ramos will take the starting catching role from pudge this seezon?
My best guesses: Ankiel/Morse platoon to start. Bernadina could get another long look later in the season if Ankiel doesn't hit. Ramos shares duties with Pudge early on (maybe 3-4 starts per week) and he takes over full-time in second half if he plays well.
do we know for sure if LaRoche is hitting cleanup and not Werth?
Breaking up the RHH (Zim, Werth) with a LHH (LaRoche) does make sense though.
Haven't heard anything and I doubt that Riggleman knows yet what he is going to do. Werth is a better hitter but I just wanted to break up the right-handers. I can see it going either way.
I like the way it is. Werth has never shown the consistent ability to carry a ball club like a 4 hitter is sometime inclined to do.
He was a perfect 5 hitter in Philly and looks like he could be the perfect 5 hitter in Washington
The only thing that might mix up the middle is if Werth is placed in the 3 hole with big Zim protecting him.
This lineup has promise but needs a lot to go right for a solid season
Jason,
By all accounts Flores is 100% (is he out of options). Doesn't it make more sense for WAS to have him back up IRod during what should be his last season and have Ramos (a top 10 catching prospect) get regular playing time in AAA for at least 1/2 more seasons? I.E., Call him up midseason or for injury and save some of that precious service time since IRod is the starter?
It makes sense. Have you heard any quotes from the Nats stating that they expect Flores to be on the big league roster? For now, I was going to wait until Spring Training to see if Flores is healthy. This was the story I read at the end of the season that said Pudge and Ramos would likely platoon in '11 but that's without knowing if Flores would be healthy.

I'm not a Nats fan so there may be some quotes; I just don't know. As for Flores, the comment below is is why I asked the question.
"C Jesus Flores (shoulder surgery) has recovered and is expected to be ready for spring training." via Yahoo Nationals team report
What about Boomer Whiting...a little guy ...big heart and desire and a fast set of wheels. Been following him since I just happened to attend a random Baseball Game in Louisville. Still believe he has what it takes to make it.
Think he'll be a starting outfielder in Syracuse. Could eventually reach big leagues as a backup outfielder but probably not with Nationals this year unless they have some injuries. Team seems to have a lot of depth in the outfield right now.
why did you put bernadina in cf?
Morse is in lead for LF job, according to manager and GM. That leaves Morgan, Ankiel, and Bernadina for CF job. Bernadina is in the lead right now, in my opinion. You should follow me on Twitter. That's where I first announce projection changes and give some insight as to why.
I didn't realize Chad Gaudin pitched well enough in Spring Training to earn a bullpen spot. Also do you know anything about Alberto Gonzalez rumored to be traded? I read that the Nationals are going to keep Alex Cora and trade Gonzalez since he is out of options.
One of the beat writers tweeted the other day that he would be on the 25-man roster. Surprising with how good Broderick and Balester have pitched but I guess they like his versatility.
It sounds like they're trying to trade Gonzalez. A few teams were mentioned as having interest. That would open a spot for Cora. If they don't trade him, I'm not sure if they'd keep him or place him on waivers.
