Isn't Kohn a long reliever?

Does anyone else see all this as a sign that Hank Conger is going to receive a very, very long look this spring?

I was just thinking that. I might need to add another position battle. Not sure if Scioscia would trust the youngster with the pitching staff, though, but I can see him providing much more offense than Mathis. Wouldn't be too difficult.

i dont freaking get why our best hitter is not hitting 3rd. heck ive even seen a lineup with kendry hitting 5th. such pure insanity

Even coming off his huge year in 2009, he mostly batted 5th last year behind Abreu, Hunter, and Matsui. Personally, I like the L-R-L-R balance with Abreu, Hunter, Morales, Wells. Not sure what Scioscia is planning. Lineup order seems pretty unsettled right now.

From everything I hear about him, he's on the fast track. I would think Hi-A Rancho Cucamonga or AA to start; One-level promotion (AA or AAA) by mid-season; Major leagues for September call-up; Battling for starting job in Spring Training 2012.

I think Bell beats out Cassevah for LR and Bulger beats out Thompson for MID. Really going to hate losing Thomspon or Bulger. You got to love how these young guys (Bell, Kohn, Jepsen, Bulger, Walden) seem to be putting it all together.

do you think wood can make the starting line up this year? i really think this is gonna be his break out all-star season. but of course this could all only end up as wishful thinking

It doesn't sound like he's gonna get much of a chance unless someone else gets hurt or Izturis/Callaspo struggle at the plate. He should be on the roster until Kendrys Morales returns but I don't see him getting many ABs on this roster. I think they've already given up on him as part of their future but he's still there because of all the injuries.
