There is another full list of free agents who played in the minors last season but those names are not included. Let's just focus on the players who most of you have heard of and who might have a chance to earn a big league job in 2010.

Starting Pitchers - There are still two future Hall of Famers available (Martinez, Smoltz) who appeared to have something left in the tank at the end of '09 and a couple of others (Looper, Washburn) who should be able to eat innings and contribute at the back end of the rotation

BOS RHP Paul Byrd: 5.82 ERA; 34 IP, 47 H, 11 BB, 11 K

DET LHP Jarrod Washburn: 3.78 ERA; 176 IP, 160 H, 49 BB, 100 K

Relievers - You can still find a few serviceable lefties in this group and a couple of 40+ year-olds (Springer, Weathers) who can still get hitters out.

TB RHP Chad Bradford: 4.35 ERA; 10.1 IP, 22 H, 2 BB, 6 K

BOS LHP Brian Shouse: 4.50 ERA; 28 IP, 31 H, 7 BB, 17 K

Catchers - Unless you believe that Michael Barrett, at age 33, can somehow regain his old form of 2006 (.307, 16 HR, 53 RBI for Cubs), this cupboard is empty.
