Great job I love the site. I was looking at this lineup and I think you have the correct starting 9 however, after looking at some UZR ratings from fangraphs.com and also figuring in some injury concerns I have a feeling we will see Borbon playing CF with Hamilton getting most of his at-bats in the DH spot. Clearly Hamilton needs to be in the lineup as much as possible and by using him as a DH this can be done. Also, I dont have a solid source to back this up but I dont see M.Young in the 3rd spot. Hamilton, Cruz, Kinsler would be a better bet to go 3,4,5 with either Borbon or Andrus moving to the bottom of the order thus allowing Young to bat in the 2-hole. Just some thoughts. Agian awesome job I visit the site daily.

That's a great argument. I'll definitely be looking out for more info on this situation. I projected this lineup because Andrus did get 130 AB's from the 2 hole and Young got 107 AB's in the 3 hole last season. However, if Hamilton is healthy, it might make more sense to hit him in the 3 hole. Hamilton's health also determines what position he plays but no doubt they will probably try and keep him healthy by having him DH frequently. Thanks for the feedback!

Borbon is playing CF over the winter, so unless Byrd returns I think Borbon will play CF.

Jason,

Did you see the report today on mlbtr about K. Greene? That could open the door back up for a Mike Lowell deal.

Very sad news about Khalil. As a Padre fan, he was so much fun to watch for about the four seasons he was here. Hope he can get through this.

Regarding Lowell, I think he still makes a lot of sense as a backup at 1B, 3B, and an occasional DH. They called off the last trade because of concerns with his medical exam but that could change if Boston takes on more of his salary and the prospect is a lesser one than Max Ramirez.

Will be interesting because I don't see Lowell as a fit in Boston and he would be a perfect fit in Texas.

Jason,

Ian Kinsler will likely start the year on retroactive dl.

The Rangers still are holding out hope that second baseman Ian Kinsler (ankle) will be ready to play opening day. However, his status for the rest of spring training remains in doubt. Dr. Keith Meister examined Kinsler's right ankle sprain on Friday and found a small bone bruise in the back of the ankle. Kinsler will get an anti-inflammatory injection that the team is hoping will reduce the pain and swelling. "We're going to need to see how he physically responds," assistant GM Thad Levine said. "Our goal is to have him ready for opening day and healthy. If we're able to get him out on the field when he's gotten clearance that would be optimum, but we're not going to force the issue." Joaquin Arias would probably begin the season as the Rangers second baseman if Kinsler isn't ready.

Jason,

Ben Snyder has cleared waivers, TEX is trying to work out a trade to keep him.
