Phillies look like one of the most balanced teams on paper out there. A solid everyday starting 8 top to bottom, backups for CA.(Schneider) 1B.(Gload) 2B.-SS.(Castro) 3B-OF.Dobbs) & all OF Pos.(Francisco). These 5 could be starters for most MOR teams. The starting staff is solid w/ the possible #5 slot. (Name a team that has a solid #5 ?? at this point in time). The bullpen looks good on paper but you never know until the season opens. Bullpens seem to always be iffy with teams and we'll have to see how the Phil's play out. I think you'll see this team late into October with a few tweaks along the way especially with the pitching with AN emphasis on RELIEF. GO PHILLIES 2010 !!!
After seeing MLB.com's Top 50 prospects my worries were solidified. The Phillies need more quality prospects. We can't keep all of our top players like the Yankees can. We need to draft and develop players the way the Braves, Twins, Marlins, etc do. All we have are Brown and Aumont in the top 50. That's not enough. Phillies need to build around pitching and sacrifice a bit of its potent offense.
