Love the site. I started my own Boston sports blog. insidebostonsports.blogspot.com.

Do you you have any suggestions/advice to me with regard to Blogspt?

One question I do have is how do I get a good read on my hits, and some in-depth stats. My friend has a Word Press blog going and he is getting some interesting types of statistics based on the activity on his page.

Thank you,

Carl

could you add a picture to player's profile

I need to look into it. Legally, I don't think I can without paying for rights but I've seen other blogs use pictures so it could be a possibility.

Tim Wakefield. U think he can crack a 6th slot rotation spot (if BoSox) need? Or is the knuckleballer done?
Also what do you expect out of Alcides Escobar this season.

Thanks for all the time you put into this fantastic spreadsheet. For those of us that love fantasy baseball but don't have as much time as we'd like to devote to it, this spreadsheet is a Godsend! It gives us a better chance to compete.

This is by far the best site, up to date, one word WOW. Nice work buddy keep it up.

Great site. But for some reason, it started badly crashing my FireFox today, even after rebooting. IE works with it, but does show an error alert on each page. Here's the one on the main page:
Message: Object expected
Line: 583
Char: 1
Code: 0
URI: http://www.mlbdepthcharts.com/

Thanks Scott. I haven't heard anything else from anyone else. Hopefully it is nothing major. Keep me posted.

Absolutely great site and an unbelievable resource. One question/request I have is including those guys on the 60 day DL to the Excel spreadsheet you have for the AL and NL Pitching Staffs and Lineups tabs. Aren't those guys on the roster as the 15 day DL guys are?

Anonymous said... April 3, 2010 8:06 AM

This is an awesome site, and the spreadsheets are incredible!!!! Keep up the excellent work!

Great resource! A thousand thankyous for this product. I'm wondering if you would mind elaborating on your "next in line" players list. Are these players who are destined to go from AA to AAA, and/or AAA to MLB, because the spot ahead of them is opening up? Or, are they just great prospects? What's your criteria for putting someone on that list?

@Jaybud: No, 60-Day DLers are *not* counted against the 40-man rosters

Jason said... April 3, 2010 12:56 PM

Jimmy-

I know that 60-day DL guys aren't counted per se, but my question is mainly from a fantasy standpoint. We can draft 15-day DL guys as they are on the 40 man roster. I'm just trying to figure out where 60-day DL guys figure on a team's roster and if they are draftable!?

Jason - MLBDepthCharts.com said... April 3, 2010 1:31 PM

Jimmy, the 'Next in Line' list are players who were originally in the 'other roster candidates' list are were either optioned, reassigned, or it was just obvious that they weren't going to make the opening day roster. Ticketed for AA or AAA is pretty accurate for that group, however, there are still plenty of others from the 'Minor Leaguers you should know'. I am working on new team pages that should be ready in the next week that will break up the players into their respective leagues. Hope that answers your question.

Jason - MLBDepthCharts.com said... April 3, 2010 1:32 PM

Jaybud, I'll be adding the 60-Day DL guys on the side-by-side view of the spreadsheets soon.

Jaybud said... April 3, 2010 1:55 PM

Thanks man! Again, great work!

Here's another suggestion:

Unless I'm blind and it's somewhere I don't see it, I think you should provide the Excel spreadsheet link right at/near the top of the Home Page.

What an excellent site! You have filled an important niche that used to be a black hole for complete information. As co-commissioner of a huge 20-team, mixed league, I had to wait until Monday morning's USA Today before I could finalize the draft order for our replacement player Supplemental Drafts. Your consolidated information and timely updates on MLB Opening Day lineups has made it possible to begin our Supplemental Drafts 24 hours early. That is huge!!!! Super job!

Jason,

Do you plan to do a little write up on the upcoming Rule 5 draft after Thursday's non tender deadline?

After that deadline you'll know which teams have open 40 man spots (which are required to draft). The draft (if the same as years past) is the last thing on the docket at the winter meetings.

Nothing lengthy neccessary...just a little list of names being thrown around and which teams may draft someone and the chances those players might make it a whole year on a roster would be nice.

just a thought, why not have the depth charts, 40 man rosters are set...so theres free agents, adjust them when the sign...

Re: Rule V write up

Not sure yet. I'll definitely post something if I feel I can add to what Baseball America's already written.

http://www.baseballamerica.com/online/prospects/prospect-bulletin/2010/2610976.html

What I will do is keep a Rule V tracker, which I did last year. http://www.mlbdepthcharts.com/2010/03/rule-v-picks-update.html

Keep checking back and thanks for the suggestion!

Awesome site. Quick question about the Braves. Why is Chipper not listed on the 25 man roster. All indications are that he'll be ready come opening day.

Jason - MLBDepthCharts.com said... December 15, 2010 9:25 AM

Re: Chipper

I initially didn't think there was a chance he could come back on time from an ACL tear in August. Maybe I was thinking about football player recovery time but apparently it's only six months for a third baseman. Still iffy, in my opinion, but I'll do some more research and possibly make a projection change today. Thanks!

Anonymous said... December 15, 2010 12:32 PM

Thanks for the quick update, Jason. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Chipper will stay healthy and have a good year in 2011! Thanks for all of the work you do on this site. By far it is the most accurrate roster site on the net. Keep up the great work!

Anonymous said... January 11, 2011 7:44 PM

Keep up the great work here, Jason. As a suggestion, I'd like to see Non Roster invitees denoted on rosters.

Jason - MLBDepthCharts.com said... January 12, 2011 8:18 AM

I'm definitely going to somehow indicate whether a player is out of options and possibly NRI's as well. Without knowing who is in big league camp or not, the players on the 'On the Outside Looking In' are players I feel have a chance to make the team with a good spring. Should cover most NRI's in that group. Thanks for the suggestion!

Planning to see all 30 teams this year. I have my six or so favorites I have followed for years but need to learn more in depth about others. Your site is unmatched as far as details and professional insights. Thanks for all of the hard work, Jason!

Glad to be of help, Diane. Thanks for reading!

Jason,

Not sure where you are getting your injury updates, but CBS gathers them nicely.

Jason - MLBDepthCharts.com said... March 28, 2011 1:39 PM

Got it. Thanks for the tip! I usually just go off what the beat writers are reporting. Rotoworld does a nice job of collecting all that info as well.

Anonymous said... March 29, 2011 8:40 PM

Your depth charts are better than ESPN's and mlb.com's. Thanks for your hard work, I hope you keep this up.

Jason - MLBDepthCharts.com said... March 30, 2011 5:07 PM

I appreciate that. Thanks!

KeithyP said... April 13, 2011 10:44 AM

Hey is there a way you can put on the home page links to recent comments ?

Its hard to know where the new comments are landing without checking every team...or am I searching the site wrong?

Jason - MLBDepthCharts.com said... April 13, 2011 3:12 PM

I can but it's just a matter of playing around with the design and finding the best spot for it. I'll try to get something up soon and let you know when it's done. Thanks for the suggestion!
