I officially decided to 'launch' the MLBDepthCharts.com site by submitting the link to Cork Gaines over at MLBTradeRumors.com for his 'Baseball Blogs Weigh In' feature, which he posts every Friday. In response, the site received 19,500 page views yesterday. I'm sort of new at this but that seems like a lot to me. Thanks to Cork for posting the link!
Along with the page views came some constructive feedback and most importantly, I have made several changes and corrections to the roster projections based on reader comments. Contribution from readers is a key to keeping this site accurate and up-to-date. The most reliable information at this point will come from the manager, GM, or local beat writer. As I hear or read something solid that comes from one of these sources, I will update the projections. Of course, I am always open to making a change based on a good, educated argument from a reader. And sometimes, I'll just have to go with my instincts.
I will continue to make improvements on the site and I am open to any ideas for the content that should be included on this site. At this point, I will focus on keeping the roster projections updated while throwing in a few features that are all roster-related. Email me at info@mlbdepthcharts.com if you have a suggestion.
